1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, accessing, or using the App, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and by our Privacy Policy.

2. Definitions

• "Account": The registered profile you create using Google Sign-In to access the App.
• "Content": Any news headlines, summaries, articles, images, metadata, or text displayed in the App.
• "Third-Party News Provider": Licensed external news feeds and content providers (currently, Currents API) from which the App retrieves Content.
• "Advertising Partners": Third-party advertising networks, exchanges, and mediation platforms (including AppLovin) that deliver and measure advertisements when advertising services are enabled.
• "User" / "you": Any individual who accesses or uses the App.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) to use the App. By using the App, you represent and warrant that you meet this eligibility requirement and have full legal capacity to enter into these Terms.

4. Account Registration and Authentication

• Accounts are created and authenticated exclusively through Google Sign-In.
• You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and Google account credentials.
• You agree to provide accurate profile information and notify us immediately if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

5. User Responsibilities and Prohibited Activities

You agree to use the App solely for personal, non-commercial news consumption. You agree NOT to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or derive the source code of the App.
• Use automated bots, spiders, scrapers, or crawlers to access, scrape, or extract Content from the App.
• Interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on our servers, networks, or APIs.
• Artificially generate ad clicks, automate impressions, or tamper with advertising slots or measurement systems.
• Attempt to bypass or circumvent authentication, security measures, or rate limiting.
• Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or malicious purpose.

6. Intellectual Property

• NewsOS Platform: The App interface, visual design, software code, logos, trademarks, and recommendation algorithms are the exclusive property of NewsOS.
• Third-Party News Content: All news articles, headlines, images, and publisher trademarks remain the sole intellectual property of their respective original Third-Party News Providers and publishers. NewsOS does not claim ownership of third-party news content.

7. News Aggregation and Content Disclaimer

News Content displayed in the App is retrieved from licensed Third-Party News Providers (currently Currents API). NewsOS adds value through automated aggregation, curation, ranking, categorization, and personalized recommendations.

• NewsOS is an automated news aggregator and does not independently author, verify, edit, or endorse the factual accuracy, opinions, or completeness of third-party news articles.
• Clicking an external news link directs you to the original publisher's website. NewsOS is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or availability of external third-party websites.

8. Advertising and Third-Party Sponsored Content

• When advertising services are enabled, the Service may be supported in part by advertising revenue. The App may display native, banner, interstitial, or sponsored advertisements delivered by third-party advertising networks (including AppLovin).
• Advertisements are provided by third-party advertisers. NewsOS does not endorse, warrant, or guarantee any third-party products, services, or claims advertised within the App.
• Interacting with or clicking on an advertisement connects you with third-party advertisers subject to their independent terms and privacy policies.

9. AI Recommendation Disclaimer

The App uses artificial intelligence and algorithmic scoring to tailor news feeds to your interests.

• Recommendations are generated algorithmically and do not represent editorial endorsements or opinions of NewsOS.
• While our algorithms strive to present relevant, balanced, and diverse news, we make no guarantees that every recommended story will align with your personal views.

10. Service Availability and Modifications

We strive to provide continuous and reliable service, but the App is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, update, or discontinue any feature, feed, or aspect of the Service at any time without prior notice or liability.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, NewsOS and its officers, directors, employees, and agents shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, loss of goodwill, device malfunction, or business interruption arising out of your access to, use of, or inability to use the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless NewsOS and its affiliates from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your violation of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, or your infringement of any third-party intellectual property or privacy right.

13. Account Termination and Deletion

• Termination by NewsOS: We may suspend or terminate your account at our sole discretion if you violate these Terms, engage in fraud, or pose a security risk.
• Termination by You: You may terminate your account at any time by deleting your account through the in-app settings or via our Account Deletion Page.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India, without regard to its conflict of law principles. The courts in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India, shall have exclusive jurisdiction over any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the App.

15. Severability and Entire Agreement

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, that provision shall be enforced to the maximum extent permissible, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the complete and exclusive agreement between you and NewsOS regarding the Service.
